Acceptable Use Policy

These rules apply to everything on Troupe: characters, cards, stories, prompts, AI outputs, and Marketplace listings, in every mode and with every provider, including your own key.

1. Zero tolerance: minors

No sexual content involving anyone under 18, real or fictional. This includes:

  • Sexual or sexualized content involving a character who is described as, depicted as, or implied to be under 18, regardless of claimed age, species, "aged-up" framing, fantasy setting or narrative justification
  • Romantic or sexual roleplay with a minor character
  • Content that grooms, sexualizes or exploits minors in any way

Minor characters may appear in safe, non-sexual stories.

Violations result in immediate permanent termination, preservation of data, and reporting to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and law enforcement.

2. Prohibited in all modes

  • Content involving real, identifiable people in sexual situations, or intended to harass, defame, impersonate or dox them
  • Non-consensual intimate content about real people
  • Instructions that meaningfully help build weapons capable of mass casualties (biological, chemical, nuclear, radiological, explosives)
  • Content that promotes or glorifies terrorism or violent extremism, or recruits for it
  • Encouragement or instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders directed at a real person
  • Threats, harassment or hate speech targeting real people or groups based on protected characteristics
  • Malware, phishing, fraud, scams, or other illegal activity
  • Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy
  • Spam, or attempts to manipulate or overload the Service

3. Safe mode

Safe mode is for general audiences 16+. No sexually explicit content. Violence, horror, conflict and mature themes are allowed when they serve the story and are not gratuitous.

4A. Marketplace

Marketplace listings must meet safe mode standards and Sections 1 and 2. They also must not: contain sexual content of any kind; be spam or near-duplicates; misrepresent the story in the title or description; include personal information, links or advertising; or copy someone else's work. Every submission is reviewed before it is listed, and we may remove listings at any time.

5. Circumvention

Do not attempt to evade moderation, age verification, credit metering or rate limits, including through encoding, misspelling, splitting content across messages, prompt injection, or editing outputs to avoid detection. This includes connecting, requesting or configuring a model that is not listed in Troupe, or one that is marketed or modified to remove safety measures ("uncensored", "abliterated", "unaligned", "no restrictions"). Attempts are treated the same as the underlying violation.

6. Reporting

Use the Report button on any character, story, message or Marketplace listing, or email [to be filled]. Reports about child safety are reviewed first. You can also report directly to Cybertip.ca.

7. Enforcement

Depending on severity, we may block a generation, remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, suspend your account, or terminate it permanently. Section 1 violations and serious Section 2 violations lead to immediate termination without warning. Credits and subscription fees are not refunded for accounts terminated for policy violations.

8. Appeals

If you believe we made a mistake, email [to be filled] within 30 days with your account email and what happened. We review appeals manually. Section 1 terminations are not eligible for reinstatement.
