Small update | v0.2.0
v0.2.0: A Cleaner Home Screen, and Safety Work Behind the Curtain
Today's update is a mix of small polish you'll notice right away, and bigger safety work that's rolling out next. Here's what changed.
A Tidier Home Screen
The top of the page no longer crowds the logo.
Your plan badge and the account buttons now sit in their own row above the Troupe wordmark, on every screen size from small phones to wide monitors. Nothing overlaps, and nothing scrolls sideways.
Marketplace, Share a story, and Journal now look like buttons.
They used to be plain text links that were easy to miss. Now they're clear, tappable buttons in the same style as the rest of the stage.
The Journal Opens to About
Tapping Journal now takes you to our About page first.
If you're new here, that's the best place to start: what Troupe is, who it's for, and how it works. The Blog and Updates are one tap away from there.
Coming Next: Stronger Safety Checks
We've finished a round of safety work that's now in review, and it will roll out once it passes.
Troupe is built for storytelling, and keeping it safe is part of keeping it fun. This round focuses on three things:
- Fewer false alarms. Some harmless lines were being stopped when they shouldn't have been. We've tuned this so ordinary scenes run more smoothly, without loosening any of our firm limits.
- Firmer limits where they matter. Our protections for younger characters now look at the whole scene as it unfolds, not just how a character was first described. Content that could cause real-world harm is blocked in every mode.
- Same rules for every model. Whether you use Troupe's built-in AI or connect your own key, the same safety limits apply, and models built to remove safety guardrails can't be used on Troupe.
Our Terms will also get a short new section on using your own AI key: your key and your stories stay yours, and you follow your AI provider's rules as well as ours.
Bottom Line
Most of you will only notice a cleaner home screen. That's the point. The best safety work is the kind that stays out of your way while you write.
If something feels off, or a harmless scene gets stopped, please use the report button so we can take a look. Every report helps us tune things.
Happy writing!
